Air Samarkand has launched a new direct route between Samarkand and Tel Aviv, operating its first scheduled flight on May 4, 2025. The inaugural service was performed with a modern Airbus A330 and marks a key milestone in the expansion of the airline’s international network.

The flight departs Samarkand every Sunday at 06:00 and arrives in Tel Aviv at 09:25 local time, with the return leg departing at 11:20 and arriving in Samarkand at 18:40. Due to strong demand from tourists, pilgrims, and business travelers, a second weekly service will be added from July, operating every Thursday. Depending on passenger load, flights will be performed using either Airbus A330 (313 seats) or A321 (194 seats).

Passengers on the inaugural flight were greeted with traditional ceremonies and special gifts at both airports. The route has been well received by travelers from both countries, further enhancing ties between Uzbekistan and Israel in tourism, culture, and commerce.

"Opening regular flights to Tel Aviv is an important step for Air Samarkand,” said Zafar Butayev, CEO of Air Samarkand. “We see strong and consistent demand, and we are confident this route will become a vital air link between our two nations.”

Tel Aviv, located on the Mediterranean coast, is known for its vibrant cultural life, historic proximity to religious sites like Jerusalem and Nazareth, and attractions for food lovers, shoppers, and art enthusiasts. For Israeli travelers, the new connection offers easy access to Samarkand — a UNESCO World Heritage city and one of the key hubs along the Great Silk Road.

The launch of the Tel Aviv route is part of Air Samarkand’s broader strategy to grow its international footprint. In 2025, the airline plans to increase frequencies to popular destinations and introduce new routes, while expanding its fleet and improving onboard service.

In addition to international flights, Air Samarkand operates domestic shuttle services between Samarkand and Tashkent, and has performed charter flights to cities including Batumi, Delhi, Dhaka, Dubai, and Tbilisi. Its most popular route to date has been Jeddah, served from five cities in Uzbekistan.
