Air Samarkand — Airline of New Uzbekistan
Air Samarkand was founded in April 2022.
Our first aircraft arrived in Samarkand on November 2, 2023, and our inaugural charter flight took place on December 29, 2023. Scheduled flights commenced on March 21, 2024. Our fleet includes three aircraft: Airbus A330, A321, and A321neo. We plan to expand our fleet and route network significantly within the year.
Our airline is based at the new Samarkand International Airport, Uzbekistan's most modern and second busiest airport.
Air Samarkand was established by entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan who are true patriots of Samarkand and have significantly contributed to the development of the city and the country. The airline was created with funds from private investors in Uzbekistan.
At the core of Air Samarkand's DNA is a constant drive for development and innovation. We implement world-class standards of safety, service, and comfort. Our route network is continuously expanding its geography, offering the residents of Samarkand increasingly convenient ways to travel.
Our mission is to provide the residents of Samarkand and neighboring regions with direct access to popular destinations and to facilitate seamless travel for visitors to Samarkand.
Air Samarkand is a vital component of a broader project to develop the Samarkand region. This initiative includes the construction of a new airport, the Silk Road Samarkand tourist center, and various other infrastructure, cultural, and tourist projects.
Airline history:
| April 4, 2022 | Sam Air LLC, the legal entity of Air Samarkand, was registered. |
| November 2, 2023 | The first aircraft, an Airbus A330-300 arrived in Samarkand. |
| December 27, 2023 | The Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued the Airline Operator's Certificate for Air Samarkand. |
| December 27, 2023 | Air Samarkand was assigned its own ICAO code “UZS” as well as the radio call sign “Samarkand” |
| December 28, 2023 | The airline's aircraft Airbus A330-300 took to the skies for the first time from Samarkand and made a demo flight to Tashkent and back |
| December 29, 2023 | Air Samarkand performed its first commercial flight on Airbus A330 to Istanbul. |
| March 21, 2024 | Air Samarkand operated its first scheduled flight with an Airbus A321neo. |
| April 21, 2024 | Launch of summer charter program. The first flight from Samarkand to Nha Trang, Vietnam |
